Welcome back to all gamers! We are organising our first in-house gamesday for next week, and both players and testers are needed! We will affect a mock set-up tomorrow in F9, and schedule the first games day for 1:15 early next week. If you want to be part of this, comment below, speak to one of the CODEx organisers or pop along on the day to play a slot.
These games will be fast-paced 1on1, or at most 2 on 2 so that as many games and replays as possible will be hosted.
The first game by popular consensus will be Nintendo Wii’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl
First tournament-drop-in is Thursday 1st March next week.

in this new game a band of survivors led by an x marine are trying to take the earth back from an alien race called the chimerans which have taken control of most of the earth .what this game has to offer is excellent selection of weapons it also has great environmental graphics also a very challenging campaign and one of the most best features of this game is the intense multi player which i say is one of the biggest online multiplayer games in the wourld where there is nearly 50 people playing at the same time which is a massive amount .the campaign which leads on from resistance 1 and 2 what makes the campaign hard is your health does regenerate over a short period of time like in mw3 or bf3 which can make it quite difficult at times when the chimerans are barring down on you when you have low health but health packs are plentiful and are very easy to come by but still it makes it that bit harder .there is not a lot of bad news about this game though only there is no matchmaking for cooperative online play aswell the campaign is very jumpy.in my opinion what i love about this game is the graphics and the detail of the scenery and the chimerans but ill leave that to you please feel free to leave your opinions and your score rating.
MY SCORE RATING FOR THIS GAME IS 8.5

So, I recently got this game for PC. Black and White 2. I haven’t really gotten all that far in the game, but I figured I’d get this written before I got bored of the game.
Black and White 2 is a god-game – you play as a Greek god and apparently in this world the Greeks are monotheistic since the only other gods are ones controlling other civilizations.
You start off(after the short tutorial) under attack – the powerful Aztec tribe are attacking your Greek cities and you must flee to new lands before all is lost! Quickly you must drop what few citizens you can into portals to bring them to your new home and do what you can to slow down the Aztec advance by knocking large bales of flaming hay into their soldiers. Fun.
Once you’ve made it to your new home, it’s a whole new start…or so you think. You come out not far from an abandoned Greek town on an island with a few other Norse(also monotheistic, it later turns out) settlements, one with two squads of rookie soldiers patrolling around them. Fun.
This is a bit of a tutorial-ender, introducing concepts of building structures, creating armies and causing other settlements to migrate to you by means of becoming sufficiently impressive.
Well, that’s all I’ve really done. I did say I haven’t played much, hmm?
So, my thoughts on the game. Story-wise, it’s nothing special so far – we have been removed from our lands! we must build an army to fight back.
Even though it’s a late 2005 game, it’s graphically quite pretty. Nothing uber-high-res or anything like that, but it does what it needs to do and then some.
Gameplay is a bit awkward. I’ve had some troubles with not being able to build in places for no apparent reason – terrain unevenness, I guess? Apart from that and a few other niggles like an inability to control your Creature (which is basically a pet that can fight, gather, build etc.) directly it’s fairly good.
Performance, well, my machine can run it fine. I’ve probably been capping at 60fps and it looks very smooth.
Overall I think I’ll give it 8/10. It’s a good game and I like it, but the interface is a bit clunky, clicking what you want is difficult and things like that prevent me from giving it a 9 or 10.

Is the PS Vita in trouble before it even hits Europe? I just saw on the net that sales are tanking in Japan, aka home of the handheld systems! Compared to 3DS, this is a bad sign, and I don’t want to go looking for this system if it is only going to be around for the length of a sneeze! What do you guys think?

Just curious – am well finished with Demon Souls, and still plugging away when I have time with Dark Souls, but when I stepped away to play Skyrim and Deus Ex HR recently, I felt like I was colouring by numbers again! What do you guys think the key difference between a rewarding level of difficulty is against infuriatingly near impossible gameplay? Is it when you play as hardcore or veteran in Halo/CoD etc. which only lowers your shielding while raising enemy HP, or is it a finely-tuned task that takes precision and timing – or is it something else entirely? What makes the difference for you? What games fall into each category?
